Woman, you are beautiful!

The past few years, I more often than not hear women complain about the way they look. Not that I have anything against women taking care of themselves and make themselves look even more stunning (In fact I love it), but everything should have a limit.

Why am I saying this? Well, for one, it's usually the most stunning women who curse themselves for their ugliness and the skinniest people who curse themselves for being fat. And it's absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, because these women are perfect in the way they are different. I am so tired of everyone trying to be the same mainstream slim model, who I - more often than not - don't even think is pretty. I am not saying that you shouldn't do something about yourself if you know there is a problem - just don't call in the big guns just because you got that extra kilo during Christmas.

However, I don't blame women for thinking the way they do sometimes (and on a side note, I don't claim to understand women - that would be an overstatement the size of Kansas). However, media today really tries to brainwash you into seeing that there is only one way to be pretty, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Just turn on your TV. In the next 30 minutes, I'll bet that you will at least see three commercials for make-up, fashion, clothes, hair products - all in which you have the same standard model. Now, open a magazine. I say at least 5 pages in there will be of the same sort of model. Is it really that weird women get confused? I even saw a commercial for plastic surgery in TV!

I just want to underline, that this is no way a generalization of women.

So, today I want all you who reads this to do the following. Go tell your partner or a friend of the opposite sex that they're are beautiful, handsome, hot or any of these kind o f words. I did! And you know what?

The smile you get in return is priceless.

  6. Interesting. Modern society stigma I guess.

  7. I've always wondered the same thing, the more beautiful the more insecure it seems.;

  9. It's all the physical materialism in this age that causes this. We no longer survive, we live. This replaces all of our values, automatically by being placed in this society. Of course, the are the odd few who realize this (perhaps without even knowing) and value themselves through intelligence instead of appearance.

I personally haven't given my appearance a high priority. I only take extra care of myself due to social needs. If it was up to me, I'd stop shaving, stop cutting my hair and wear clothes that has a purpose other than giving an impression.

  10. I tell my girl every day how beautiful she is, and you are right on the money about the crap these ladies have to go through. I don't think it's fair that such strict standards of "beauty" are imposed upon them day in and day out while men really could care less....

And it's true, men don't look at things like shoes and pass any kind of judgment on a woman (unless of course they aren't attracted to women in the first place). A very insightful post indeed. I will be following you from here on out!

  14. I never understood when a woman would say she looked like crap, and they are radiating with beauty. I think my girlfriend looks wonderful everyday. But if she's not wearing any make-up she won't go anywhere. I don't get it, but I her praise anyways.

  15. Yeah, women are under a lot of pressure, I agree.

  16. When we say "I think i've put on weight"
Your supposed to say "no you haven't in fact i think you figure looks fantastic, have you lost weight?" to which we say "are you saying i look too skinny?"...

  23. The same principle works with psychology. Everyone wants to be "normal" or "happier" than they are.

  24. I don't understand what it is! It truly is the prettiest of all that curse themselves for being ugly. I don't understand it one bit.

  25. it's not the face or body that makes women beautiful, her personality, the way she speaks, her voice, etc. and the one that try to become beautiful by cosmetic is just like one that wearing a fake face

  26. Sure, the smile is priceless ;)

  30. This is why I love my wife. She's super hot, but doesn't act like it at all. She's relatively unconcerned with her appearance. I mean she takes good care of herself, but it's not manic.

    Good times.

  31. Its only natural to hate ones appearance.

  32. I completely agree with this post man, it seems like most women do it for attention as well as that they think these "facts". So all in all, it's just silly.

  33. great advice to all WOMEN out there!

  35. Sometimes when we complain about something it's just to make you go and say "Nah, you are very slim" or something along those lines.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The face is the most important, and the faces are all different... except you put tons of makeup on it. So leave this shit away and be natural beauties.

    ReplyDelete
  37. here we go again. My old lady is the finest thing out there- to everyone but her. Before our daughter was born(9 yrs ago next week), we had many discussions about a father's role in developing how his children(particularly daughters) view themselves. so i've tried to be very cognizant of that responsibility. It seems at times an uphill battle against, as you discussed, the pressure to be beautiful weighs on the minds of these women

  38. My girl likes her makeup and stuff, but I tell her to leave it off. She is always worrying about her look when I am more of a personality guy. She's still sexy as hell though. :P

  39. This always seems to come up at some point during the month for me... my girl will go on about how she's fat or ugly or her hair sucks or whatever. When in reality, she's hot 99% of the time.

  43. Nice post. Thanks for dropping by my blog. I agree definitely. Following now. Should and always will do what what they need to in order to feel good about themselves but I also want to stress the importance of looking within. And being a cookie cut-out is not what makes one more gorgeous.

  44. There's this little flick called "The Secret" that says stuff along these lines. Worth a view!

  45. I suppose women just get this idea that they have to look like all the "beautiful" women we see in the media at an early age and this just stays with them. For some reason though, men (from my experience) are not as concerned with looking like all the good-looking guys in media.

  52. "Women...can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em". As a guy everything seems logical from my point of view. Women, although usually correct, have a complicated way of getting there.
